I am nearly 2 years into a 4 year personal lease on a little car, I really need a bigger car and happy to pay more monthly but when I contacted the personal lease company they said this wouldn’t be possible to upgrade vehicle, unless I paid 50% off the remaining 2 years of lease, nearly 2K. A friend at work told me about voluntarily termination but on reading further on these forums is this only for a car you would own outright once the payments are made? I’m slightly confused and is there any small print I need to look for?

Grateful for any advice, thank you

Hi mrsmoving. Unfortunately you don’t have VT rights on a lease, only on a purchase agreement (ie – PCP or HP). As such, you are bound to the lease agreement and whatever cancellation terms apply.
