Has anyone else heard of this scam?

A guy goes to buy a car, counts the money out with the seller then places the money in a bag in his pocket. Once the paperwork has been signed, the buyer hands the bag over and drives off. The seller opens the bag and it’s been swopped with cut up newspapers.

The car has long gone and the seller is left scammed.

I’m guessing the seller wouldn’t be able to claim on the insurance either.

Haven’t heard about it, but doesn’t surprise me. There are scammers everywhere, and as a seller you need to be on your guard at all times. If you are selling your car, this is how you sell your car for cash
