Subaru is displaying a concept at the Geneva Motor Show that points firmly towards the next-generation XV crossover.
The Japanese brand simply says that the XV Concept previews the design direction of the next generation of Subaru vehicles which will include the next XV – a car not thought likely to launch for some time.
The design philosophy is dubbed ‘Dynamic X Solid’ and signature elements are a tapering, slightly tightening silhouette as the body shape flows towards the rear. Two distinctive lines extend across the flanks from the front bumper and the lower half of the doors.
The hexagonal grille and ‘hawk-eye’ headlamps that are Subaru design elements are retained, though both the front and rear lamps are new, while matt black body cladding also forms a major part of the concept’s look.
The XV concept is also finished in a specially developed new paint finish, ‘Glacier Khaki Silica’ – a blue-grey tone that the brand says has been created to evoke the appearance of glacier ice. It is accented by orange detailing on the grille, front and rear bumpers, 19-inch aluminium wheels and roof rails.
