The Car Expert hits ONE MILLION visitors!
Just after 8.30pm GMT on Sunday 15 February 2015, The Car Expert welcomed its one millionth visitor to the site. Yep, ONE MILLION DOLLARS. Oops, I mean visitors. One million visitors.
For a bit over three years, this site has simply aimed to help people get a better deal when they buy a new or used car. And now a million people from around the world have found their way here to get some advice or learn a bit more about how car finance schemes work.
The Car Expert was founded in London in October 2011, based on a simple principle: customers deserved some help to get a better deal when buying a car. We came along to cut through the car company jargon, and provide simple car buying advice that is impartial and independent.
There are plenty of websites and magazines around to help you decide which car you would like, but very few that actually help you decide the best way to go about buying it. Buying a car is a massive financial undertaking, and it is important to understand the ramifications of how you buy, finance, insure and maintain your car.
When they have questions or want to understand more, most car buyers will ask the car salesman or finance manager for advice – the very people being paid to take as much of their money as possible. This is a bit like the Three Little Pigs asking the Big Bad Wolf how to build their houses (hint: he doesn’t recommend bricks…).
Unfortunately, there used to be very little impartial information that helped to explain how car finance works, what to look out for, what to consider, and what not to do. But now there is a resource that answers your car buying questions, and makes sure that you get a fair and balanced explanation. Over the last three years, The Car Expert has built up a library of valuable car buying information, as well as all sorts of other automotive news and trivia. We run regular #AskTCE articles where we answer some of the most commonly-asked questions. We also have a busy forum where car buyers can ask questions and car owners can discuss problems. From small beginnings, we now welcome 100,000 visitors per month (and are still growing).
