Hi All Car Experts,
I am looking to buy a BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer. One thing I am noticing is that a new one is around 33k to 37k while a year or two year old is around 17-20k. To me, that seems like quite fast depreciation. My question is
1) Am I right that its a bit faster than usual depreciation
2) if yes what could or is the cause for faster depreciation for BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer.
thanks for your help.

There are a number of factor’s which affect used car value. For more information, have a read of our article on depreciation.
In the specific case of the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer, well it doesn’t have the same desirability as most BMW models. People mover-style cars never usually do anyway, and the 2 Series Gran Tourer is quite a departure for BMW. It’s a front-wheel drive car with a platform that is shared with the MINI Countryman, and is quite different to other, more popular BMW models.
