I purchased a 57-plate Vauxhall Zafira 1.6 petrol FSH 88k miles 10 days ago, it has a new MOT & 3mth RAC warranty. I have had to top up the oil twice since purchasing it. It’s using about half a litre in 100 miles. Do I have grounds to reject the car as unfit for purpose?

Hi David. A 10-year-old car with nearly 90,000 miles on the clock will be difficult to reject if it is running properly. Yes, it is a high level of oil consumption, but rejecting the car under the Consumer Rights Act as not fit for purpose could well be difficult.
