Hello, so I’m having a little problem with some buyers of a Van I sold around a month ago, they are claiming that the Van has been checked by their mechanic and he claims it is unsafe to drive as there is major corrosion on the bottom and the MOT that took place 1 month prior to selling is therefore fraudulent, I’m no expert in vehicles and don’t know much about them, so to believe what my mechanic said about the van at the time of the MOT was going to be the truth? I then later sold the van, mentioning “corrosion underneath but does not compromise security” (which was stated in the MOT) so I had warned them about the issue and even gave then a quote on it of £400, they want to take me to a small claims court? Am I liable? Or can I redirect this to the mechanics that clearly are in the wrong here?
