I bought a new Nissan Juke in April. During the first few weeks, I noticed a flapping/rattle noise on the passenger’s side, maybe underneath the car.

I notified the dealership and they had it for a day, heard the noise but could not fix it. They wanted the car in again and had it for 8 days, still could not fix it. They then wanted it for 5 more weeks, maybe to do some welding!

I asked to reject the car and asked for a full refund. Since then I have been left in limbo waiting for them to assess the situation.

I am 81 years old and rely on transport but cannot use this car now I have rejected it. How long should I have to wait for this to be resolved? Any info would be welcome.

Hi Douglas. Have a read of our article on rejecting a faulty car.

You may find it difficult, however, to reject a car on the basis of a rattle or other noise.
