I am choosing to VT my contract, however my tyres are below the 1.6mm tread. Can the finance company refuse the VT because of this or would you recommend getting these changed before hand?
Hi Skye. It’s your responsibility to make sure the car is maintained in good condition, so illegal tyres would definitely be chargeable.
You will almost certainly find it cheaper to get them changed yourself instead of waiting for the finance company to charge you whatever they decide it should cost.
