Just a quick message to wish all of our readers a wonderful Christmas (or holiday period, religious or otherwise) and New Year.
It’s been another enormous year here at The Car Expert, with nowhere near enough time to do all of the things I would like, but still time to do plenty of amazing stuff. It’s been pretty flat-out all year long, from the London Classic Car Show in January to Christmas functions in the last few days.
Along the way, there’s been the Geneva Motor Show, Goodwood Members Meeting, Le Mans with Pistonheads, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the British Grand Prix, the Goodwood Revival, (including another popular ticket giveaway), a movie premiere, hot lapping Silverstone with Rob Austin in his BTCC Audi, various media events and more. There have also been plenty of opportunities to do some cool things that simply couldn’t fit into the calendar, but hopefully next year will throw up all new cool things to do.
Our reader numbers have continued to grow again this year. In February we welcomed our millionth visitor, just over three years after starting up. Nine months later, we hit our second million. How quickly can we reach three million? We’ll find out soon enough.
This year also saw a bit of TCE on TV, with a car buying advice campaign for NatWest on their website and YouTube, and a TV interview with Sky News on eco cars. Plus I was (mis)quoted in an interview for the Daily Mail on the Volkswagen #dieselgate scandal…
There won’t be a lot happening here at the website until after New Year. If I get a chance, I will still try and answer questions on the forum and in article comments, but I’m not making any promises. For 2016, we hope to get more helpful articles out than ever before, and hopefully we’ll finally get some video pieces done. If you have any ideas or recommendations, please feel free to let us know.
Drive safely, have a great Christmas and New Year, and see you all again soon.
Owner and Editor,
The Car Expert
