Honda has announced a new Prelude ‘Limited Edition‘, adding an exclusive colour scheme and interior trim to its recently launched hybrid coupé.
The special edition was originally introduced in Japan and will now be offered in Europe from Autumn 2026, although Honda has yet to confirm UK pricing or how many examples will be available.
There are no changes to the Prelude’s hybrid powertrain or chassis. Instead, the ‘Limited Edition’ is distinguished by ‘Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic’ paintwork, accompanied by red detailing on the front and rear bumpers. It also gets red Brembo brake calipers and 19-inch black alloy wheels.
Inside, the regular Prelude’s cabin is replaced by a ‘Bordeaux’ colour scheme, with contrasting red stitching across the steering wheel, centre console, dashboard, seats and door trim. There are also dedicated floor mats and an embroidered Prelude logo on the dashboard.
Mechanically, the Limited Edition retains the same petrol-electric hybrid powertrain as the regular Prelude, along with Honda’s ‘S+ Shift’ system. Rather than using a conventional gearbox, S+ Shift simulates gear changes using the electric motor, engine speed and artificial sound to give the driver a more traditional stepped-gearbox experience.
The ‘Limited Edition’ will arrive in Europe in the coming weeks. UK pricing, specifications and production numbers are sure to be announced in due course. Check back soon!
The Honda Prelude currently holds a New Car Expert Rating of C, with a score of 62%. While the car’s set of review scores are above average, this overall rating is hindered by high-than-average estimated running costs.
