About Skywell

Skywell is a Chinese electric car brand that had only just arrived in the UK before its plans were interrupted. Its first model here was the BE11, a mid-sized electric SUV aimed at one of the busiest parts of the new car market.

The BE11 arrived with a familiar pitch for a new Chinese EV: lots of equipment, a long warranty and a price intended to attract attention. The problem was that the car itself struggled to stand out in a crowded electric SUV market. Our Expert Rating reflects that, with the BE11 performing poorly against rivals despite its equipment and warranty cover.

Skywell’s bigger issue now is not just the BE11’s rating. The brand’s original UK importer ceased operations at the end of June 2026, leaving Skywell on hiatus while it looks for a new importer to resume sales here. Until that happens, buyers need to treat Skywell differently from an active new-car brand with a normal dealer and support network.

For used-car buyers, the main questions are around warranty support, servicing, parts supply and long-term confidence. A used BE11 may still appeal if the price is low enough, but the uncertainty around the brand’s UK presence is part of the ownership risk. This page brings together all of our Skywell coverage in one place, including Expert Ratings, reviews, news and feature articles, so you can understand the BE11 and keep track of whether Skywell returns to the UK market.
