About Leapmotor

Leapmotor is one of the newer Chinese car brands to arrive in the UK, but it has a different setup from many other recent arrivals. It is backed here by Stellantis, the same wider group behind brands such as Peugeot, Citroën, Fiat and Vauxhall. That gives Leapmotor access to an established sales and aftersales network, which is useful when buyers are being asked to consider a badge they may not know very well yet.

In the UK, Leapmotor is focused on electric cars and range-extending hybrid models with a strong value story. The range started with the T03 city car and C10 SUV, and has since grown with models such as the B10. Leapmotor’s own UK site describes the brand as offering high-tech, high-spec cars at affordable prices, which gives a fair sense of where it is trying to sit in the market.

For buyers, the attraction is likely to be practical rather than emotional. Leapmotor is not selling heritage, performance image or badge prestige. It is trying to make electric-car ownership feel more accessible, with plenty of standard equipment and prices aimed at people who may have been put off by the cost of EVs from more familiar brands.

The bigger question is how well the cars deliver beyond the headline value. New brands need to prove themselves on software, driver-assistance systems, reliability, dealer support and long-term resale values, not just price and equipment. This page brings together all of our Leapmotor coverage in one place, including Expert Ratings, reviews, news and feature articles, so you can keep track of how the brand is developing in the UK.
