Mini has added a new ‘Midnight Edition‘ trim grade to the electric Countryman range, combining a fixed equipment specification with a choice of blue or black paintwork.

Available exclusively with the Countryman ‘SE ALL4’ electric powertrain, the new model is based on the existing ‘Classic’ trim but adds equipment including heated front seats, a head-up display, wireless smartphone charging and additional driver assistance technology.

Exterior colour choices are ‘Indigo Sunset Blue’, which is new to the Countryman range, or ‘Midnight Black’. Both come with a black roof, while buyers can choose between black or silver versions of the 18-inch Asteroid Spoke alloy wheels. Privacy glass is also standard.

Inside, the ‘Midnight Edition’ gets black and blue cloth upholstery with a dark headlining. ‘Driving Assistant Plus’ is included, adding adaptive cruise control with stop & go functionality and lane-centring assistance. Buyers also get four years’ access to the ‘Mini Connected’ package, which includes connected navigation, live traffic information and various entertainment services.

There are no changes to the electric powertrain. The ‘Midnight Edition’ uses the recently updated 65kWh battery, with an official range of up to 285 miles. The four-wheel-drive ‘SE’ can accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds, while DC charging is supported at up to 130kW.

The Mini Countryman ‘SE Midnight Edition’ is available to order now, priced south of £42k before the government’s £3,750 Electric Car Grant is applied. First UK deliveries are expected in early 2027.

The Mini Countryman Electric currently holds a New Car Expert Rating of A, with a score of 79%. It scores top marks for its low running costs and zero tailpipe emissions, while media review scores have also been good. It also has a five-star safety score from Euro NCAP.
