Lepas has confirmed UK specifications for the L6 EV, a new electric family SUV that will join the Chinese brand’s range later this year.

The L6 is the first fully electric model from Lepas, joining the larger L8 plug-in hybrid as the fledgling Chery-owned brand establishes itself in the UK. At over four-and-a-half metres long, the L6 is similar in size to models such as the BYD Atto 3, Geely EX5 and Leapmotor C10.

UK buyers will have a choice of ‘Essence’ and ‘Elevate’ trim levels, but both use the same battery and electric motor.

A 65kWh battery powers a 217hp electric motor driving the front wheels. Lepas quotes a 0-62mph time of 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 111mph.

Official range is 279 miles, while DC charging is supported at up to 120kW. Lepas says a 30% to 80% recharge should take around 22 minutes, although it hasn’t provided a 10% to 80% charging time.

The L6 also comes with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function, allowing its battery to power compatible electrical equipment.

Two trim levels

Standard equipment on the entry-level Essence is fairly generous, including 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and privacy glass.

Inside, there’s a 13-inch central touchscreen and nine-inch digital instrument display, along with wireless smartphone charging and a six-speaker stereo.

The more expensive ‘Elevate’ replaces the standard fabric upholstery with leather-effect trim and adds electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats. It also comes with a powered tailgate, upgraded eight-speaker Sony stereo and ambient interior lighting.

Both versions get front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system, while ‘Elevate’ additionally offers automated and remote parking assistance.

The L6 has a 410-litre boot, increasing to 1,334 litres with the rear seats folded. There’s also another 99 litres of storage beneath the boot floor, which should provide somewhere to keep charging cables out of the main luggage compartment.

Lepas says the chassis has undergone specific development for European roads, while the car’s suite of driver assistance equipment includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance and rear cross-traffic braking.

UK pricing and availability

UK order books for the Lepas L6 EV are expected to open in October 2026, although pricing has yet to be announced.

Every L6 will come with a seven-year/100,000-mile vehicle warranty and eight-year/100,000-mile battery warranty. Lepas will also provide 12 months of RAC roadside assistance, which can be renewed for up to seven years if the car is serviced through the manufacturer’s authorised network.
