The Dacia Logan MCV (for Maximum Capacity Vehicle) is a small estate based on the Sandero hatchback. It is available as a regular version and a faux off-road specification called Stepway.
Like most Dacias, the Logan models are priced significantly cheaper than any potential rivals, meaning that similarly-priced vehicles are much smaller and similarly-sized vehicles are much more expensive.
The Dacia Logan has received generally positive reviews from most of the UK motoring media, with the notable exception of Jeremy Clarkson. It has been praised for its value for money, economical engines and enormous load space; however it has been criticised for lacking considerable refinement compared to most new cars.

“Want the most space for your money? The Dacia Logan is the cheapest estate car on sale in the UK today.”

Model reviewed: 1.5-litre diesel manual Stepway
Score: 8 / 10
“The Dacia Logan MCV Stepway can’t match the likes of the Octavia Scout and Golf Alltrack in interior finish, but it trumps them both on value. This is a well built, rugged and practical car that now has extra kerb appeal for those wanting a pseudo-off-roader look and not caring about all-terrain ability.”

“If unashamed load-lugging is your goal, then the Dacia Logan MCV is a very compelling way in which to do it. There are few frills, but a lot of practicality.”

“The great thing about the Dacia Logan is that it knows what it’s meant to be and what it’s meant to do, and doesn’t waste time and money trying to be anything else.”

“There’s something reassuringly sturdy and likeable about a car that does exactly what it says on the tin. If you want value and spaciousness, no other car on sale today ticks those two boxes quite as well.”

“The Dacia Logan is ridiculously cheap which is the biggest selling point for the car. Every time you despair over the lack of kit, the manual locking doors or wind-down windows, just remember that it is a practical spacious estate car with a three-year warranty for under £7,000.”

Model reviewed: Estate
Score: 4 / 10
“The Dacia Logan MCV is a bargain small estate that offers plenty of room and a surprisingly capable and economical selection of engines, but refinement and kit levels are poor. It’s a budget option, starting at less than £10,000, but it shows throughout.”
