1. Ford Fiesta (2016: 1st)
The King is dead, long live the King. After the previous Ford Fiesta dominated sales charts for its entire life cycle, the new model has arrived and continued on its merry way.
Given that the new car is a significant leap forwards compared to the previous model, it seems entirely likely that the Fiesta will continue outselling the rest of the automotive world for 2018.
The Fiesta held onto its traditional top spot despite selling 26,000 fewer cars than the previous year (94,533 registration in 2017 vs. 120,525 in 2016). Part of that 22% drop was during the changeover from old model to new that took place during the crucial sales month of September, but it also shows how far the Fiesta sits above the rest of the market that it can lose 22% of sales and still finish comfortably on top.
