3rd PLACE – Volvo XC40

We said: “The Volvo XC40 arrives late to the premium compact SUV market but will make its mark within it.

“Combining all the major advances of its larger XC60 and XC90 sisters with a distinctive, younger-pitched style, it also scores on the quality of its technology and the efficiency of its powertrains. It is a worthy European Car of the Year.”

Thatcham said: “The XC40, Volvo’s offering in the burgeoning small SUV market, offers the highest Adult Occupant Protection score of any car tested last year. It’s ‘Pilot Assist’ system, combining Adaptive Cruise Control and Steering Support, is also very good.”

  1. I am struggling greatly to get help for my car situation. I bought a brand new hyundai i10 from Bristol Street Motors the hyundai dealership in Exeter in June 2017. During a winter check in Oct 2018 at Halfords the coolant was found to b low. Advised to take it back to BSM which I did. Half a plastic cup of water frm dispenser poured into coolant container. By end of Dec car not starting well. Taken back to BSM who diagnosed seepage of coolant into an engine bore. It has been in their garage in Exeter since January 10 undergoing diagnostic tests. On 15 Jan I was given an hire car paid for by hyundai (hire due to end on feb 28. What are my rights. BSM have told me that I am just unlucky!!!
