About Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi is a familiar name in the UK, even though it disappeared from new-car showrooms for several years. The brand stopped selling new cars here in 2021, but it never quite vanished from British roads. Older Outlander, ASX, Eclipse Cross, Shogun and L200 models are still common enough, and the Outlander plug-in hybrid was one of the early success stories in the UK plug-in market.
The brand is now returning. Mitsubishi has confirmed that its UK comeback begins with the new Outlander plug-in hybrid SUV and the L200 pick-up, putting the focus back on the kind of practical, rugged and partly electrified models that British buyers already associate with the badge.
That makes Mitsubishi different from many of the other brands arriving or relaunching in the UK. It does not need to explain who it is from scratch, but it does need to rebuild a new-car presence after several years away. Dealer coverage, pricing, model availability and long-term commitment will all matter, especially when the UK market has become much more competitive since Mitsubishi left.
For used-car buyers, our older Mitsubishi coverage still has value. For new-car buyers, the most useful information will build as the relaunched range arrives and we can assess the new models properly. This page brings together all of our Mitsubishi coverage in one place, including Expert Ratings, reviews, news and feature articles, so you can research the older range and follow the brand’s return to the UK market.
