Summary
The Jeep Compass Electric is a mid-sized battery-powered SUV, and part of the third-generation Compass range that arrived in the UK in early 2026.
The range also includes a petrol mild-hybrid Compass ‘E-Hybrid’ model, which we cover separately here. The Car Expert’s own Matt McConnell argues that the electric Compass is “practical, well-priced and easy to drive”, but that it also struggles to stand out in a very crowded mid-sized EV field, particularly as “there are stronger alternatives at a similar price.”
The Parker’s team adds that the electric SUV is “quieter and smoother” than its petrol-powered Compass equivalent, while adding that the Jeep is “a little bland to drive”, its “efficiency is only average and the infotainment can feel slow at times.”
Electrifying.com’s Ginny Buckley points buyers in the direction of the Skoda Elroq and MG S5 EV, which offer “better ride comfort and handling”. Tough competition from other brands aside, Green Car Guide’s Paul Clarke concludes that the SUV is “much better car than the previous Compass model”, with “modern” exterior looks, a “functional” cabin and a large boot.

“Here we have a Jeep that’s not very good at towing and, for the time being at least, not much cop off-road, either. The Compass is not without merit, though. It is great value, well equipped, roomy and practical. The Jeep Compass Electric is a relatively affordable car to own and run, according to whole-life cost numbers provided exclusively to The Car Expert by our data partner, Clear Vehicle Data.
The car’s insurance premiums sit just above the market average, and its average official battery range of 340 miles (between 298 and 372 miles depending on the model) is very competitive when compared to other all-electric mid-sized SUVs. Jeep’s new car warranty is fairly boilerplate, matching many rival brands in a similar price bracket as the Compass Electric.
The duration is three years, with a limit of 60,000 miles. In addition to the standard new car warranty, the Compass Electric has an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty for the battery components.
