Summary
The XPeng L03 is a new electric coupé-SUV that sits below the larger XPeng G6, which was the Chinese brand’s first model to launch in the UK. It’s expected to arrive here in early 2027, although UK pricing and final specifications haven’t yet been confirmed.
At 4.7 metres long, the L03 is firmly in family SUV territory, with a lower, sleeker profile than the G6 and frameless doors and windows. XPeng quotes an electric driving range of up to about 320 miles, depending on specification, along with fast charging speeds for quicker turnarounds at public chargers.
Practicality also looks promising. The boot holds 539 litres including underfloor storage, while electric versions get a frunk of up to 102 litres depending on drivetrain. The L03 can also tow up to 1,500kg.
Inside, there’s a 16-inch central touchscreen, head-up display and plenty of technology that XPeng likes to emphasise, including native Google Maps integration, voice control and advanced parking assistance. Front seats can include heating, ventilation, lumbar adjustment and massage functions, while the rear bench splits 40/20/40.
XPeng is also putting considerable emphasis on its latest driver-assistance software, although exactly which features will be available in UK cars – and when – remains to be confirmed. It’s expected that only top-level cars will get the company’s AI-powered tech, as lower-spec models won’t get the same chips to run it.
The XPeng L03 will enter an increasingly crowded electric family car market, so its prospects here will depend heavily on pricing, standard equipment and how closely the UK version matches the cars we’ve seen so far.
Stuart’s view:
“Based on a launch drive of a left-hand drive car that’s not quite UK specification, the XPeng L03 appears to be a very competent new contender in the increasingly crowded electric family car market.
“It offers a smooth, quiet and comfortable driving experience, although the European roads we tested it on were a lot better than we get here in Blighty. Once final UK pricing and specifications are confirmed, we’ll have a better idea of just how competitive the L03 is likely to be against some very good competition.”

“The XPeng L03’s strengths will be its super-keen pricing, generous level of standard kit, and the allure of up to 425bhp for around £40,000. To drive, it is perfectly proficient and capable – but also largely unmemorable. It’s a fuss-free way of getting from A to B, but there’s a heck of a lot of talented alternatives in this market sector for the L03 to truly stand out.”
